Here is another good example of  how to dress a bay window.  As you can see the functional treatments are roman shades.   Kingston style valances cover the roman shades and are made individually for each window. The valances are positioned close together to give a continuous line.

What types of window treatments do you put in a business that don’t look fussy or feminine?

There are many types of window treatments that lend them selves well to a business atmosphere. Classic roman shades, blinds, shutters, natural shades all look wonderful in a business setting. Draperies and valances can give a smart business look too but  it take a professional to accomplish it. As well as the valance and drapery design, color, fabric, pattern, scale, and the overall  finished look must be considered. A professional window treatment designer will provide that expertise .

Sexy Window Treatments

Yes, window treatments can add a sexy feeling to the bedroom!   Window treatments along with furnishings and accessories set the tone or feeling of the room.

I will attempt to discribe a bedroom that went from an empty room with white walls and wood floor to a sexy retreat.

We start with a bare room that has one double window with great sun exposure.  Let’s make it alluring and romantic. The color scheme will be primarily a deep rich indian summer red with touches of cream, black, and brown.

The walls have been painted a deep rich indian summer red color, this is a dramatic backdrop for everything that will go into the room. Then a plush soft rug in an animal skin pattern in colors of cream, black, and tan was placed on top of the hardwood floor. For furniture we added  a mellow, medium brown leather upholstered headboard. Dressers and night stands are a basic style of furniture in a walnut finish with pewter hardware.

Fabrics  add  color, softness, and allure to any room.  A duvet  in  a sexy, silky  smooth, fabric with an exotic black, cream, and red print  is perfect for the bed covering and fabulous to the touch. It beckons you to lie accross the bed.  To add even more decadance to the bed we piled on 6 to 8 toss pillows of various sizes and colors, of course they all have lush trimmings applied.

Exotic natural shade made of bamboo in a tortise shell finish.

The window treatment is multi layered for function and beauty. To block out light and provide privacy we chose an exotic natural shade made of bamboo in a tortise shell finish.  Ballroom gown type draperies of the same material as the bedding were hung from a wood rod in a walnut finish with intricate finials. These ballroom gown draperies are exquisite, the fabric is very flowing, soft to the touch, shimmery, and inviting.

For accessories, lamps, art work and such, exotic items were chosen that conjure up thoughts of far away places such as The Orient and Africa. This is a very exotic and sexy bedroom that anyone would love to spend the night in.
